That is why we have a telephone dedicated to PuBS only, a membership form for non PC owners so that they can be recorded on our mebership base, and we are investigating the various country show and game fairs set ups so that a show stand can do the rounds and enlist more people and shoots.
Whilst advertising is expensive we are also considering advertisements in the shooting press to engage with a wider potential membership base.

You and Nick should give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back. Very very few would be prepared to put their money where their mouths are as you two have done. |

Being a newcomer to the sport, even having family that are farmers, albeit in Lincs, its hard to find a way into Beating, Shooting etc, which lets face it can sometimes be very clicky and difficult to become excepted into. |
Its only a matter of getting out and talking to people and thinking of ideas that will get you into contact with those fellow sportmen that are involved locally.
All of the following work.
Put a ad in your local gunshop, farmshop, feed merchants agricultural supplies store. Join you local gundog training group/club. Take up clay shooting, visit the local farming estate offices and ask for you phone number to be passed onto the keeper. Have a drive around one saturday morning and listern for the shooting taking place, follow the noise and find the beating team and keeper introduce yourself hand over your contact details and bugger off to await your phone call.

I disagree as I have never seen a newcomer discouraged. How ever we are by nature cautious fellows. But those that are keen enough soon find theselves accepted.

| Well as the forum is registered solely to Nick I thought it logical that he would be admin, or are we talking about a split personality  |

Steve
This sites intention is never to have to pay for anything!
The site is registered to me- thats because the bills come to me.
I sometimes sign in as admin because someone has to when hes busy tinkering- he fishes, is into model aeroplanes, doesnt shoot, isnt particularly fond of dogs but tolerates ours, does loads of programming still ( he is retired), is a bit bigger than me and has a beard, he is bribed by braces of birds during the season- he is a bigger carnivore than me even.
